AEROPRO CZ S R O A240

Everything here is true of every aircraft of the type, not of any one aircraft.

The Aeropro A240 is a Czech light sport aircraft from the same company that builds the EuroFOX: a high-wing, strut-braced two-seater with a Rotax 912, a fabric-covered welded steel tube fuselage and a useful load that is unusually good for the class at around 660 lb.

That useful load is the interesting number. Many light sport aircraft cannot carry two average adults and full fuel within the 1,320 lb limit; this one can. It is light, docile, short-field capable and cheap to run on about five gallons an hour of mogas. The reservations are the usual ones for a small European import: a small US fleet, parts that come from the Czech Republic through a distributor, fewer mechanics who have seen one, and a resale market that depends on that distributor remaining in business.

The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories.
