Version 2026-10-04, in force since 4 October 2026.

What you are buying. A TailFax is a PDF report about one US-registered aircraft, assembled from public FAA and NTSB records. It sets out what those records say about the aircraft, and what they cannot say. It is a starting point for questions, not a substitute for a pre-purchase inspection, and not advice.

What it is not. It is not an inspection and not a damage history. Maintenance records and logbooks, modifications (supplemental type certificates and form 337 field approvals), repairs, damage never reported to the NTSB, corrosion, engine and propeller time since overhaul, avionics fit, and whether any directive was complied with appear in none of its sources. The records it uses may be incorrect, incomplete or out of date, and they are matched by name, date and serial number, so some links are probable rather than certain. We do not guarantee that any of it is accurate or complete.

What you get. The report as it was produced when you bought it; later data loads do not change it. You open and download it signed in with the email address you bought it with, for 90 days from purchase.

Refunds. If the report is not what you needed, for any reason, ask for a full refund within 7 days of purchase and you will get one. No questions, nothing to return. When the refund is issued, your access to that report ends.

Refunds under this version: a full refund within 7 days of purchase. How to ask: see the Refund policy.
