BOMBARDIER INC BD-700-1A11
Everything here is true of every aircraft of the type, not of any one aircraft.
BD-700-1A11 is the type designation for the Global 5000, the shortened-fuselage member of Bombardier's Global family. It carries eight to thirteen passengers 5,200 nautical miles at 488 knots in a cabin wide enough to walk around in, with a bed and a proper galley, and it flies at 51,000 feet above most weather and traffic. Introduced in 2005, the aircraft kept its BR710 engines throughout; the change a buyer should know is the flight deck, which was the Honeywell Primus 2000XP on aircraft built through 2011 and the Bombardier Vision deck, based on Collins Pro Line Fusion, from 2012 — a 2010 and a 2013 Global 5000 are the same aeroplane with two generations of cockpit.
This is intercontinental corporate aviation: two or three crew, a large hangar, and annual fixed costs before a single flight running into seven figures. Variable costs are around 430 gallons an hour plus engine programme and maintenance reserves. The Rolls-Royce BR710 is a mature engine with good support through the manufacturer's programmes, and enrolment status is the main determinant of an individual aircraft's value. The shorter fuselage trades range against the Global 6000 while keeping the same cabin cross-section.

- Each of the five categories places the model within its peer class, from 0 (the worst of the class) to 10 (the best): a position among comparable models, not a grade. The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories.
