Aircraft model

DASSAULT AVIATION FALCON 2000

Everything here is true of every aircraft of the type, not of any one aircraft.

The original Falcon 2000 is Dassault's large-cabin twin, developed from the trijet Falcon 900 by shortening the fuselage and removing the third engine. It carries eight to ten passengers 3,000 nautical miles at 470 knots, and like every Falcon it has leading-edge slats that give it landing performance no other aircraft of its size can match — it stops in 2,350 feet.

That short-field capability is why operators choose Falcons over Challengers and Gulfstreams: it opens airports the competition cannot use. The original 2000 uses CFE738 engines, a joint General Electric and Honeywell design used on no other aircraft, which makes the engine support base narrow and is the main difference from the later PW308-powered 2000EX. Dassault's support network is smaller than its American competitors' but well regarded by the operators who use it.

The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories.
