Diamond DA42

The DA42 Twin Star, the first new light twin certified in decades and the first to run on Jet-A: a four-seat composite twin with two turbocharged diesels, single-lever FADEC control and 160 knots on about eleven gallons an hour total. The original (2004-12) had Thielert engines; the DA42 NG (2009 on) Diamond's own 168 hp Austro AE 300s, with the DA42-VI of 2012 treated by the certificate as an NG variant. Built in Austria and recorded under both Diamond entities.
