Glasair Sportsman 2+2
1 model built 2004 · 249 on the US register today
The Glasair Sportsman 2+2, Glasair Aviation's four-place development of the GlaStar introduced in 2004: a steel-cage cabin inside composite fuselage shells, a 35 ft folding aluminium wing and gear that converts between tricycle, taildragger and floats, with 180-210 hp Lycomings (the IO-390 on most recent builds), 2,350 lb gross and about 1,000 lb useful. Most of the fleet was assembled in Glasair's Two Weeks To Taxi builder-assist programme, which makes examples unusually uniform for an amateur-built type.
