The Rans S-7 Courier, Randy Schlitter's tandem two-seat high-wing taildragger, first flown in November 1985 as a trainer for the single-seat S-4 Coyote and named after the Helio Courier: a welded 4130 steel-tube cockpit with a bolted aluminium-tube rear fuselage, all fabric covered, with doors on both sides, a 30-inch cabin and floats and skis optional. The S-7C of 2001 was certified in the US primary category; the S-7S of 2003 is its kit version with the 100 hp Rotax 912 ULS standard, and the S-7LS the factory-built S-LSA. About 600 had been built by 2011.
