Titan Tornado

1 model built 1990 · 81 on the US register today

The Titan Tornado, the family of cantilever high-wing pusher kits with tricycle gear that Titan Aircraft of Austinburg, Ohio has built since the Tornado 103 ultralight of 1994 (development began in 1990), borrowing its small, flapped stressed-skin wing from the Earthstar Thunder Gull: a 4130 steel cockpit on an aluminium boom, a full-flying stabilator and a tail castor because it sits on its tail when empty. The single-seat Sport, MG and Tornado I were followed by the tandem two-seat Tornado II, designed to +6/-4 g at 1,000 lb gross with engines from a two-stroke Rotax 503 to a 100 hp 912 S; the stretched Tornado SS at 1,200 lb is a longer airframe sold under a nearly identical name.
