The Yakovlev Yak-52, the Soviet primary and aerobatic trainer built in Romania by Aerostar under licence from 1978: a 360 hp nine-cylinder radial, retractable tricycle gear and pneumatic systems throughout. Large numbers came west after 1990 and operate on the experimental register; the registry also records the YAK-52S spelling.
