Fantasy Air Allegro 2000
Everything here is true of every aircraft of the type, not of any one aircraft.
The Fantasy Air Allegro 2000 is a Czech two-seat high-wing light-sport aircraft of the late 1990s, a composite fuselage with metal wings of 35 ft 5 in span and an 80 hp Rotax 912UL, about 606 lb empty, with published figures of 95 knots cruise, a 35-knot stall, 985 fpm and 700 nm; the Allegro 2007 raised the gross weight to the US light-sport limit and added headroom.
The Allegro was one of the cheapest S-LSA of the 2005-08 boom and it has the consequences: a small, light airframe, an 80 hp engine on most, a company that went through bankruptcy and a US licensee that built a handful, so factory support is thin and the owner community is the resource. The important identity question is the gross weight - 1,148 lb on an early 2000 against 1,320 on a 2007 - which decides whether two adults and fuel are legal. It is a slow, economical, easy aeroplane that teaches well and rewards hangarage for its composite fuselage. As an S-LSA it is maintained to the manufacturer's manual by an A&P or LSA repairman; the Rotax is universal.

- Each of the five categories places the model within its peer class, from 0 (the worst of the class) to 10 (the best): a position among comparable models, not a grade. The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories. When accident record and severity cannot be scored because the model has too few records, the other three give a partial score out of 30, labelled as such; it is never set against a full score.
