Aircraft model
GRUMMAN ACFT ENG COR-SCHWEIZER G-164B
Everything here is true of every aircraft of the type, not of any one aircraft.
The Ag-Cat B is the enlarged version, with a bigger airframe, a larger hopper and typically the 600 hp Pratt & Whitney R-1340 in place of the smaller radials of the G-164A. It carries considerably more per trip, which is what matters to an operator covering large acreages.
The assessment is the same as any agricultural aircraft: hopper capacity, engine time since overhaul, airframe hours and especially cycles, and corrosion from chemical exposure. The working profile of heavy, low, turbulent flying with very high numbers of takeoffs and landings is punishing. Turbine conversions of the Ag-Cat are common and create a substantially different and more valuable aircraft. It operates in the restricted category, and agricultural flying requires a commercial certificate, specialist training and a specialist insurance market.

- Each of the five categories places the model within its peer class, from 0 (the worst of the class) to 10 (the best): a position among comparable models, not a grade. The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories.
