Aircraft model

MAULE M-7-235C

Everything here is true of every aircraft of the type, not of any one aircraft.

The M-7-235C is another current-production variant of Maule's long-wing four-seat taildragger, differing from the B in engine variant and propeller installation. The performance envelope is the same: short-field ability that rivals a Super Cub while carrying four people.

Maule's model designations are the most confusing in general aviation, with a dozen closely related M-7 variants differing in engine, propeller, fuel and gear. For a buyer the practical advice is to ignore the suffix and check what is actually fitted against the aircraft's paperwork. Build quality is functional, the cabin is narrow for four, and fabric is the recurring cost. The company remains in business and supports the type, which is unusual among fabric aeroplane manufacturers.

The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories.
