Aircraft model
PILATUS AIRCRAFT LTD PC-12
Everything here is true of every aircraft of the type, not of any one aircraft.
The PC-12/45 is the 4,500 kg variant of Pilatus's single-engine turboprop — the number in the designation is the maximum weight in kilograms, which is 9,921 lb. It carries up to nine passengers in a pressurised cabin at 270 knots with a large rear cargo door, and it will operate from short unpaved strips.
An aircraft of this vintage has the analogue cockpit that preceded the Honeywell Apex flight deck of the 2008 NG, so bringing it up to current airspace and operational requirements is a substantial avionics investment and is the main reason these sell well below a newer one. Many /45 airframes have been upgraded to /47 weights under supplemental type certificate, which raises the useful load by about 500 lb and is worth establishing. Otherwise it is standard turbine ownership: hot sections, a six-figure overhaul, and 60 to 70 gallons an hour.

- Each of the five categories places the model within its peer class, from 0 (the worst of the class) to 10 (the best): a position among comparable models, not a grade. The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories.
