Aircraft model
TEXTRON AVIATION INC T240
Everything here is true of every aircraft of the type, not of any one aircraft.
The Cessna TTx is the fastest fixed-gear single ever certified: 235 knots true at altitude from a turbocharged 310 hp Continental in a composite airframe descended from the Columbia 400. It has a side-stick, a Garmin G2000 touchscreen flight deck and a 25,000-foot ceiling, and it outruns most retractables.
It is also out of production after five years and about seventy aircraft, which is the dominant ownership fact. Textron ended the line in 2018; parts are supported but the fleet is tiny, resale is thin, and composite repair requires a shop that knows the airframe. There is no airframe parachute, which is the comparison most buyers make against a Cirrus SR22T and which insurers weigh. Landing distance is long for the class. Bought with those things understood it is a remarkable aeroplane; bought expecting Cirrus-scale support it is not.

- Each of the five categories places the model within its peer class, from 0 (the worst of the class) to 10 (the best): a position among comparable models, not a grade. The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories.
