The six-cylinder Cherokees: the Cherokee 235 (1963-77) with a 235 hp Lycoming O-540, a longer wing with tip tanks and a 2,900 lb gross weight; the tapered-wing Dakota (PA-28-236, 1979-94) that replaced it; and the Turbo Dakota (PA-28-201T, 1979-80) with a turbocharged 200 hp Continental. They are load-haulers that take four adults, full tanks and baggage at once, and they share type certificate 2A13 with the rest of the PA-28 line.
