Sling TSi

1 model built 2018 · 169 on the US register today

The Sling TSi, the four-seat all-metal low-wing kit that Sling Aircraft (The Airplane Factory) of Johannesburg developed from the Sling 4 and first flew in 2018, with kits shipping that autumn: a 31 ft wing, flush riveting and reinforced structure, fixed tricycle gear and the turbocharged Rotax 915 iS (later 916 iS) that gave it its name, quoted at 155 knots true at 9,500 ft on 7.4 gph with a 1,000 nm range. A demonstrator flew Torrance, California to Tampa non-stop in 13.5 hours in 2019. Early kits carried a 1,600-hour spar life limit under the UK LAA; a revised spar in kits from September 2024 removes it.
