Sling TSi
These figures describe a typical build. Each aircraft of this design was built by its owner, and the one you are looking at may differ.
The Sling TSi is The Airplane Factory's four-seat all-metal kit from South Africa, a low-wing with a 31 ft wing, a 46.8-inch cabin and a turbocharged Rotax 915/916 iS of 141-160 hp. Sling quotes 155 knots true at 9,500 ft on 7.4 gallons an hour, a 1,000 nm range, 940 fpm, a 48 knot stall and 948 lb useful on 2,094 lb gross.
The turbo Rotax is the point: four-seat RV-10 cruise speeds on roughly half the fuel, with mogas capability and a 2,000-hour TBO, and it is also the thing a buyer has to understand - a geared, liquid-cooled, FADEC engine with its own rubber-replacement schedule and a thinner US shop network than a Lycoming's, and a 915 on an early aircraft is not a 916 on a late one. It is a kit, so the panel, the parachute option and the finish vary and the aircraft's own weight-and-balance governs; the factory's quick-build and builder-assist programmes make the fleet more consistent than most. Asking prices could not be established from the marketplaces read, and the few that appear are a young, high-value market, so verify against current listings. Condition inspections need an A&P, not an IA.

- Each of the five categories places the model within its peer class, from 0 (the worst of the class) to 10 (the best): a position among comparable models, not a grade. The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories. When accident record and severity cannot be scored because the model has too few records, the other three give a partial score out of 30, labelled as such; it is never set against a full score.
