Rihn One Design DR-107
These figures describe a typical build. Each aircraft of this design was built by its owner, and the one you are looking at may differ.
The One Design DR-107 is Dan Rihn's single-seat competition aerobatic monoplane of 1993, designed so that a wooden-wing, steel-tube aeroplane could be built cheaply from plans and raced in a one-design class: a 19.3 ft wing, 710 lb empty and 1,140 lb gross on a 160-180 hp Lycoming, quoted at 160 mph cruise and 180 maximum.
The One Design is an aerobatic competition machine and that is the whole of it: a wooden wing stressed for unlimited-category g, a symmetrical section with no lift to spare at low speed, a tailwheel and a cockpit for one, with no two-seat version to learn in, so a buyer should already fly Pitts-class aeroplanes. Plans- or kit-built, so the wood, glue and the welded fuselage are the inspection and the builder's log the history; inverted systems and a composite or wood prop add to the pre-buy. No stall or climb figure was found here. It is cheap for what it does. The owner may maintain it and the condition inspection needs an A&P or the repairman certificate; Aircraft Spruce supplies plans and kits.

- Each of the five categories places the model within its peer class, from 0 (the worst of the class) to 10 (the best): a position among comparable models, not a grade. The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories. When accident record and severity cannot be scored because the model has too few records, the other three give a partial score out of 30, labelled as such; it is never set against a full score.
