Tecnam P2004 Bravo

Everything here is true of every aircraft of the type, not of any one aircraft.

The Tecnam P2004 Bravo is Tecnam's cantilever high-wing light-sport two-seater of 2002, an all-metal aeroplane without wing struts and with the Rotax 912 ULS, 741 lb empty and 1,323 lb gross, with Jane's figures of 116 knots at 75%, 1,100 fpm and 590 nm.

The Bravo sits between the strut-braced P92 and the low-wing Sierra: the clean cantilever wing gives it a few more knots and a tidier look, and it kept the high wing's cabin access and visibility, which is why it sold as a touring aeroplane more than a trainer. Its ownership picture is the same as the other Tecnam light-sport types - a well-supported metal airframe, a Rotax 912 that wants its five-year rubber replacement and gearbox inspections, and a useful load near 590 lb that two adults and full fuel will test. As an S-LSA it is maintained to Tecnam's manual by an A&P or LSA repairman. Production has ended, but Tecnam's parts support covers it.

  6. Each of the five categories places the model within its peer class, from 0 (the worst of the class) to 10 (the best): a position among comparable models, not a grade. The overall score is the sum of the categories shown that are scored, out of 10 for each (50 when all five are); it is given only when at least 4 of the five are scored, and it can be set against another model's only when both are in the same peer class and scored on the same categories. When accident record and severity cannot be scored because the model has too few records, the other three give a partial score out of 30, labelled as such; it is never set against a full score.
